Marc Randell DRUFC Club Chariman

10th August 2009

Believe it or not, the new rugby season is only a month away with the 1st XV playing their first game, a friendly, at the end of August.

Our newly-appointed Lead Coach Jim Cooper is making his mark at training and has made good progress in his quest to create consistence thought out the 3 teams. I feel that with the new appointment of Jim and a coaching staff of Peter McMullen-Bell, Neil Davies and Jordan Wigham we have one of the best coaching set ups in Essex, and it is starting to show on the training field and also with the attraction of new players.

We have been an extremely successful club in the last few years and I have no doubt that this will continue, the season cannot start quick enough.

I joined this club in 1995; and here I am; 14 years later; still involved. This is because our club is ambitious, friendly, allows a voice in the running of the club to all levels, and most of all plays a good standard of Rugby. Every player can succeed with our club. We are always looking to improve and welcome other players. With some long term plans for the clubhouse and Youth at Dagenham Last season saw our membership grow once more, and we welcomed the Bulldogs into our fold which I believe is an enormous tribute to all the hard work put into our club at every level of involvement, from coaching, to organising pitches and changing rooms, the catering or just getting served at the bar and no one is left out! We are a team. Our club relies heavily on your continued support and good will. Finally, an enormous thank you from myself and Dagenham Rugby Club to our sponsors and in particular Derek Johnson who is in it for the long haul, and to our regular crowd of supporters who never let us down come rain or shine, you help to make the difference.
The continued success of our club would not be possible without your incredible loyalty and support.

Thank You

Mark Randall
